Mint is for mojito!
Lots of talk about mint here lately. I am a big mint plant fan and started collecting a lot of different mints. If you are looking for a specific one, let me know. There is a good chance I have it!
If there is only one reason to plant mint, it’s mojitos in my opinion 🙂
A Cuban classic that never goes out of style. Try this recipe:
10 fresh mint leaves (keep some as garnish)
 (Bacardi is good)
Add mint, lime and sugar into a glass and smash them with a muddler (if you have one, if not try a spoon) to get the essential oils going. The sugar will help crushing the mint. Do not strain the mix, add enough ice cubes to the glass, almost to the top. Pour the rum over the ice and add club soda to fill the glass. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge and some mint. Sit back on the patio and enjoy on a hot summer evening.
Different mint types will alter the taste slightly. While there is a mojito mint, it’s not really my favourite, I prefer peppery, spicy peppermint or refreshing apple mint. Try and find YOUR favourite mojito mint!
Thank me later 😉
PS: Here is a non-alcoholic version.
