Russian Comfrey (Symphytum x uplandicum) is very well behaved and doesn’t spread unless the roots get chopped up. A very easy keeper even in our cold region, it reliably overwinters in zone 3.  The plant is very much a cut and come again and therefore can be harvested over and over again through out the season. There are many recipes online on how to best utilize comfrey leaves as a fertilizer. The two easiest and quickest ways are chop & drop (chop the leaves and mulch around other plants) and a quick steep in hot water or overnight in cold water and apply the liquid to any plant.
